Earth-rock calculation has important significance and function in earth-rock engineering, and is an important part of engineering design. Amount of earth-rock is an important basis of vertical planning or adjust, also directly related to the project cost, so when calculating the earthwork, we must seek truth from facts, keep improving, in line with the actual. Earthwork calculation is a key link in the processing of earthwork measurement in the industry. The commonly used methods are DTM method, cross section method, grid method and the contour method, which are all so different, have different advantages and limitations. According to the actual need, we should choose a different calculation method. 结合工程实例，对某高边坡工程土方开挖的难点进行了分析，阐述了土方开挖前的施工准备工作及开挖的施工工艺流程，并探讨了土方开挖的质量与安全保证措施，以达到预期的施工效果。

Combining with the engineering example,this paper analyzed the difficulty of earth excavation of high slope,elaborated the construc-tion process of construction preparatory work and excavation before earthwork excavation,and discussed the quality and safety assurance meas-ures of earth excavation,in order to achieve the desired effect.

基于南方 CASS7．0软件土方计算功能，通过画特殊复合线和建立坐标文件的方法来解决复杂地形的土石方量计算。结合湖北理工学院的土方施工计算实例，利用该方法可以快速、简便地计算，能有效地减少野外测量工作量，减小计算误差，且计算图纸美观，能满足日常的土方计算要求，广泛地应用于现实施工中的土方计算。

Based on the earthwork calculation function of the software CASS 7 .0 , the earthwork calculation of complexed topography was solved by drawing special pline and establishing coordinate data files .Based on the very example of earthwork calculation of Hubei Polytechnic University ,this method presented such advantages as quick and simple calculation , the effective reduction of the workload of field measurement and the calcula-tion errors and beautiful calculation drawings .The method can meet the daily requirements of earthwork cal-culation and can widely be used in earthwork calculation of the construction site .
