双语推荐:话语模式

语言课堂话语组织不应该盲从日常社会交际话语模式,而应该尊重语言课堂教学语境的特殊性和具体语言课程的特点,根据实际情况构建适切的课堂话语模式。英语专业低年级阶段内容依托文学课堂话语,应该关注语言和内容学习的双重需求。

Metadiscourses,used in commencement address,are addresser′s important means to organize discourse,demonstrate their attitudes and establish harmonious relationship with audi-ences.This paper,guided by Hyland & Tse''s taxonomy of metadiscourse,chose 10 Harvard commencement addresses as data to analyze their usage.The results indicate that metadiscourses are used to realize the generic function of speech-conveying information and persuading audience. While interactive resources help to express speakers′attitude and stance,interactional ones focus on establishing good interpersonal relationship between speakers and hearers.

Communicational language is both a social and a psychological activity process. The cognition of communicational role determines communicational manner and procedure. Communicational role is affected by social power relationship and therefore power talk comes into being. Basing on the data from Hongloumeng, the author attempts to make an analysis of Jia Baoyu’s power talk in the perspective of communicational modes. The study shows that conversational communication is a complicated and ever-changing process which is restricted by many factors. The one who has power advantage in the two parties in dialogue dominates their conversation. Different communicational models result from different “power relation” between the two parties. However, the unexpected factors, such as solidarity and conversational contexts can influence and challenge the power relation in a conversation so much so that the speaker’s power doesn’t always accord with his or hers social status.

Metadiscourse is an important linguistic resource employed by writers to signal their attitude towards the relationship among writers,the content of the discourse and readers.Recently,there have been growing research studies focusing on metadiscourse resources in a wide range of genres.However,little has been done on the metadiscourse of English Academic Book Blurbs.Based on Hyland’s interpersonal model of metadiscourse,the present study examines the distribution of interactional metadiscourse markers in English Academic Book Blurbs,in terms of hedges,boosters,attitude markers,self mentions and engage-ment markers,and how metadiscourse resources are used in an attempt to provide some reference for the understanding and writing of academic book blurbs.
