元话语是表达作者态度以及构建读者和作者之间关系的重要手段。近年来,有关元话语的研究不断受到关注,然而对于英语学术书籍短评的元话语研究还是一片空白。以Hyland的元话语模式为理论框架,以互动式元话语为研究对象,从模糊语、增强语、态度标记、介入标记以及自称语等5个方面考查英语学术书籍短评中互动式元话语的分布特点及其应用,以期为学术书籍短评的阅读和写作提供借鉴。
Metadiscourse is an important linguistic resource employed by writers to signal their attitude towards the relationship among writers,the content of the discourse and readers.Recently,there have been growing research studies focusing on metadiscourse resources in a wide range of genres.However,little has been done on the metadiscourse of English Academic Book Blurbs.Based on Hyland’s interpersonal model of metadiscourse,the present study examines the distribution of interactional metadiscourse markers in English Academic Book Blurbs,in terms of hedges,boosters,attitude markers,self mentions and engage-ment markers,and how metadiscourse resources are used in an attempt to provide some reference for the understanding and writing of academic book blurbs.
