郭沫若的小说《牧羊哀话》以尹子英和闵佩仪的爱情做为叙事的主线,在爱情悲剧背后隐藏着作者丧失家园的悲痛之情。失去家园的弱国子民,要实现自己崇高的理想、追求美满的爱情,是不可能的。因此郭沫若在这篇小说里除了表达了丧失家园之疼外,就是抒写人生的苦闷。国外的艰难生活,事业的不顺利都给郭沫若带来了精神负担,而这些人生苦闷都化作作者在小说里的浅吟低唱。

Guo Muoruo takes the love story between Yi Yingzi and Min Peiyi as its narrative clue. The author’s sorrow for the loss of homeland is behind this tragic love story. However,at that time when the country has reduced to other’s colony,it is impossible for the common people to realize one’s noble ideal or pursue perfect love. Therefore,in the novel,besides express-ing his pain for the loss of homeland ,Guo Moruo also expresses the anguish of the life. hard lifeabroad and the cause is not smooth ,which gives Guo Moruo the spiritual burden,but all change in life which cause the author to recite shallowly in the no-vel in a low voice.
