Background Azadirachtin is an important botanical pesticide .Its toxicity on Tirathaba rufivena Walker has been repor-ted to be on contact or to affect the stomach .However the effects of azadirachtin on development and egg production of T.rufivena have never been studied .[Method] A bioassay method was used to detect the effects of azadirachtin on larval and pupal develop -ment as well as longevity and egg production of T.rufivena at different sub-lethal does .[Result] The development of larvae and pu-pae were delayed , and the longevity of adults was reduced after expoeure to azadirachtin .The number of eggs and their hatchability were also redused.After treated with azadirachtin at sub-lethal does of LC25, LC50 and LC90, the egg production declined by 14.30%, 20.38%and 19.43%, and hatchability reduced 24.24%, 26.89% and 31.60% respectively.[Conclusion and significance] Aza-dirachtin may be used as an effective pesticide on T.rufivena control sincesince it disturbs its development an

In order to screen out the better insecticide against grassland locust in Daqing ,the efficiency of Avi Su Yunjun ,Azadirachtin ,Butene fipronil EC ,Fenvalerate and Avermectin against locust were compared by hanging method in Daqing .The results showed that 3 days after medieation ,the control efficiencies of Avi Su Yunjun and Azadirachtin were 56 .0% and 60 .0% ,and other insecticides were above 76 .0% .After 12 days for medica-tion ,the efficiency of Avi Su Yunjun reached 82 .9% ,other four insecticides attained 100 .0% .It illustrated that the efficiency of chemical insecticides was quick ,the efficiency of biological insecticides was slow ,suitable insec-ticides should be selected on the basis of situation to control grassland locusts .

Most research achievements of existing digital watermarking algorithms are in transform domain.Relative to the spatial domain, the watermarks embedded with these methods have larger data volume,higher security and stronger robustness,but it is complex in computation and limited in attack resistance and anti-extraction capabilities.Therefore,we propose a digital watermarking algorithm with higher performance according to the characteristic of compressive sensing (CS)and in combination with human eye visual system (HVS).It selects the sub-block with larger capacity by the non-uniformity of the block,and embeds the scrambled digital watermark by using quantification method to adaptively choose the quantified steps.It is verified through experiments that the algorithm ensures the watermark to obtain better robustness,invisibility and security.At the same time,it also improves the capability of defending against attack and extraction of the image with watermark embedded.Furthermore,the wate

In order to provide detailed information on the development and application of biological technolo-gy for controlling the pest insect in rangeland in China,the technologies,including Nosema locustae,Metarhiz-ium flavoviride,Pseudomonas pseudoalcaligenes,nuclear polyhedrosis viruses,avermectins,herding chicken and duck,attracting Sturnus roseus,azadirachtin,matrine and matrine-nicotine were introduced based on reviewing the literatures and research word.And the application and extension work,including microbial pesticide,agricul-tural antibiotic,natural enemy and botanical pesticide,were summarized.Some suggestions related to important problems existing in application were also provided.
