In order to study the application technologies of clofentezine + pyridaben 16% WP against Tetranychus viennensis in apple, field trials were carried out. The results showed that the field control efficacies of clofentezine +pyridaben 16% WP were 89.42%-94.25%, 93.15%-95.81% and 95.71%-96.13% at the active ingredient dosages of 89-114 mg/kg on the 2rd, 7th and 10th days after spraying, respectively. The control efficacies of the mixture were slightly better than pyridaben 15%EC and significantly better than clofentezine 20%SC. The efficacies of pyridaben 15%EC at 43 mg/kg were 92.44%, 81.06%and 89.70%, and the efficacies of clofentexine 20%SC at 83 mg/kg were 62.03%, 75.00%and 76.65%on the 2rd, 7th and 10th days after spraying, respectively. Tetranychus viennensis in apple could be controlled by spraying clofentezine+pyridaben 16%WP at the dosages of 89-114 mg/kg.

Toxicity and field control effect of bifenazate against Panonychus citri McGregor were evaluated by Potter-spraying method and field experiments.The results showed that the LC50 values of bifenazate and pyrid-aben were 95.37 mg/L and 228.09 mg/L,respectively,and the toxicity index of bifenazate was 2.39.The field experiments conducted in 2011 -2012 showed that the control effect of 43% bifenazate suspension was 50% to 60% at the concentration of 165,195,239 mg/kg one day after treatment,significantly lower than that of 15%pyridaben emulsifiable concentrate at the concentration of 75 mg/kg (about 70%).Three days after treatment, the control effect of 43% bifenazate at the concentration of 239 mg/kg was equivalent with that of 15% pyrid-aben,with control efficacy of over 75%.After fifteen days,the control effect of 43% bifenazate at the concen-tration of 195,239 mg/kg were 88.63% - 91 .23%,significantly higher than that of 15% pyridaben emulsifiable concentrate.These results de

As an important specific predator, Amblyseius orientalis (Ehara) shows effective control for mites, while lack of large-scale production of A. orientalis restricts its wide application. In this paper, life table of an experimental population of A. orientalis feeding on Carpoglyphus lactis (Linnaeus) was established for investigation of its development and reproduction under controlled temperature (25 ℃) and humidity (80%) conditions. Results showed that developmental duration of different stages of A. orientalis were 1.77, 0.77, 1.05 and 1.05 d, respectively. The mean generation time (T), intrinsic increase rate (rm), finite increase rate (λ) and the time for double population were 14.07, 0.18, 1.20 and 3.87 d, respectively. Daily fecundity and fecundity of single female were 1.71 and 22.50. These results suggest that C. lactis is a good alternative prey for A. orientalis.

Amblyseius swirskii (Athias-Henriot), native to the eastern and southeastern part of the Mediterranean region, is a polyphagous predatory mite used for the control of whiteflies. Due to the lack of commercialized predatory mites for controlling whiteflies in China, we are intending to introduce the predatory mite to control greenhouse whiteflies. According to regulations, environmental risk assessment is fundamentally necessary before the release of exotic natural enemies, among which establishment potential evaluation is a priority. The study estimated potential annual voltinism using degree-day model with temperature data from Beijing Meteorological Station, and assessed winter field survival of the predator. The results showed A. swirskii could complete a total of 20 generations per year in Beijing, but it was not able to complete life cycle from the beginning of November to the end of March.
