Ligularia kangtingensis S. W. Liu is reduced herein to the synonymy under L. hookeri (C. B. Clarke) Hand.-Mazz. The name Senecio ficariifolius H. Lév.&Vaniot has long been placed in synonymy under L. hookeri, a species with radiate capitula. Examination of the type specimens of S. ficariifolius has shown that it has discoid capitula, and thus is readily distinguishable from L. hookeri, but not essentially different from L. leveillei. We therefore place S. ficariifolius in synonymy under L. leveillei.

Seven different cane shoots varieties were selected to screen suitable cane shoots variety in the alpine areas of En-shi prefecture. Results showed that different variety had different phenophase. No. 6 and No.8 strain of Ejiao No.2 had the earliest maturity stage. The maturity stage of Ejiao No.1 was the latest. The yield of No.6 strain and “005” were the highest, increased by 2.7% compared with the average yield. The quality of “005”, Qiuyu and Ejiao No.1 were the best and Jiangshu was the worst. The comprehensive characters of No.6 strain of Ejiao No.2 was the best, followed by “005” and Qiuyu, suit-able for planting in the alpine areas of Enshi prefecture.

Objective:To investigate the effects of Aralia echinocaulis Hand.Mazz.,a medicine of Tujia minority,on the proliferation of fibroblast-like synoviocytes(FLSs)of rheumatoid arthritis. Methods:Collected synovial tissue specimens from 1 patients with rheumatoid arthritis and cultured them into FLSs in vitro.After 48 hours'' process of FLSs with Aralia echinocaulis Hand.Mazz. water extract of different concentrations,the MTT method was used to detect the level of cell proliferation and the flow cytometry was used to detect the apoptosis.Results:The cell proliferation was inhibited(P < 0.01) after the FLSs were processed with Aralia echinocaulis Hand.Mazz. aqueous extract,and the inhibitory rate of cell proliferation was positively correlated with the drug content.The apoptosis rate of FLSs sincreased(P<0.01).Conclusion:Aralia echinocaulis Hand.Mazz. can inhibit abnormal proliferation of synovial cells into ifbrous synovial cells.
