"Beijing school" was a loose group of scholars, which advocates the academic freedom and tolerance, and it is the "harmony and but different" type of academic existence that expresses the vitality of the "Beijing school". At the same time, many critics’ criticism of the "Beijing school" has also enriched the modern Chinese literary criticism.

Narration form of history of literature is generally included into overall narration and interpretation framework according to school.Shi Tuo ’ s orientation of history of literature has always triggered dispute and atten-tion from researches.Both left -wing critics and Beijing -school critics reject including it into writers of this school.Through analysis of Shi Tuo ’ s theme, style and technique in literary creation , It reveals that the works of Shi Tuo have a tendency to initiatively be alienated from schools of literature of the literary world .And through reading Shi Tuo ’ s literary works similar to subjects such as local novels in details , it founds that his literary works have artistic characteristics and inherent connotation that are completely different from others and possess “peculiar style”, thus presenting heterogeneity of Shi Tuo ’ s literary history positioning.
