On the basis of Karen Horney’s psychoanalysis,this paper makes an analysis of the character of Doctor Reefy,the tall dark girl and the two men who pursue her in Anderson’s short story PaperPills. Doctor Reefy belongs to the detached type who is reluctant to accept new social values.The tall dark girl belongs to the compliant type for she cannot get rid of the subordinate position in marriage even when she possesses much wealth.The two men belong to the aggressive type and they are always in favorable posi-tion when they pursue the girl.With the use of both metaphor and metonymy,Anderson reveals the conflict between the old and new social values when industry develops rapidly.The grotesque image he depicts is but his idealized self-image,which is in relation to his detached living strategy and his writing attitude.

Employing the data from “The survey on demands of the elderly for ageing support services in Xicheng District” of Beijing, this study adopted the Anderson Model as the analytical framework. We introduced community variables into the model, and explored the intention to institutional care and predict factors of elderly with and without ADL disability respectively. The Logistic Regression Model has been used for analysis, the tendency and enabling factors, as well as demand and community variables have been put into the model. The regression results indicated thatthose four kinds of factors are significantly associated with the intention to institutional care of the elderly without ADL disability. However, for the elderly with ADL disability, their intentions are highly related to tendency and enabling factors as well as demands for services. Based on the results from the analysis, recommendations and suggestions for families, communities and government, have been put forward

As China and the United States of American are typical representatives of eastern and western countries, to find out the differences of classroom-questioning of mathematics between these two countries will provide important references for effective-mathematics questioning in classrooms. Based on Anderson’s taxonomy theory, we use two sections classroom videos from Chinese and American secondary schools of the same mathematics contents to study the questioning styles, the ways teachers choose to answer questions, the ways students answering questions and the methods teachers answering questions. We do a systematical research about these information and coding them, and then we make a comparison research quantitatively and qualitatively about mathematics classroom-questioning between Chinese and American excellent mathematics teachers.
