Based on the research of virtual instrument software architecture (VISA), a testing system of the leaky coaxial ca-ble was constructed in NI LabVIEW 8.20 development environment. In the testing system, R&S (Rohde & Schwarz) FSL3 and R&S SMB100A are connected to the system via GPIB interface, and NI USB-9162 is connected via USB interface. Microsoft Of-fice Access database is used as a carrier to record and analyze the measured loss data, and realize the report generation. The test system presented in this paper has been applied to a famous cable factory in Jiangsu, China.
