Hollywood’ s films about Tibet in 1990s make up a Utopia image, emphasize conflicts be-tween Tibetan local government and the central government of China, and make the West as “rescuer”. From the perspective of history, this paper analyzes three contemporary Hollywood’s films, i.e., Little Buddha, Seven Years in Tibet, and Kundun, and finds that they have deliberately fictional plot and dis-tort the relationship between the central government of China and Tibet. Greatly influenced by American politics, those films transferred the wrong opinion and values of American society and reflect the Ameri-ca’ s pressure on Chinese government under the excuse of “human rights in Tibet” after the cold war.
