ESP和语料库相结合已逐渐成为语料库语言学的一个重要发展方向。语料库对学习者语言认知图式的构建和基于语料库的开放型、互动式、批判性的学习方式的形成具有积极作用。文章使用语料库索引软件Wordsmith5.0和网络语料库设计汽车英语教学,尝试将语料库的主题词、索引行和词表等典型功能应用于汽车英语教学。
The combination of ESP and corpus is becoming a crucial aspect of corpus linguistics. For learners,the corpus plays a positive role in construction of cognitive schema and open, interactive and critical learning method. The paper applies Wordsmith 5.0 and corpus online to design automobile English teaching, attempting to introduce some typical functions such as keywords, concordance and wordlist into the teaching design.

Using the criterion of whether the text has been grasped by second language learners, the article divides corpus into two kinds:grasped text corpus and non-grasped text corpus. It also has analyzed the powerful functions of the grasped text corpus built by the learners. It points out that grasped text corpus contributes greatly to the learning of second language. And in the end it also shows some drawbacks of the grasped text corpus and the ways of improving it.

This essay starts with a brief comment on McEnery and Wilson's (1996) statement that considerable differences exist between English Language Teaching (ELT) materiah in textbooks and actual language uses evidenced in the corpora.Topics of"authenticity and arti ficiality" and "native speaker and non-native speaker" asks for a "YES" to corpora use in ELT,while analysis of obstacles for students to use corpora and differences between corpora language and teaching materials prefers a "NO" to it.After examining relationship between corpora and language teaching and introducing "pedagogical corpus" and "learner corpus",the author puts forward the opinion of "Yes" and "No" to corpora use in ELT in China.
此文以广东石油化工学院大学生英语写作自建语料库(GuPT—EWCCS)为例,讨论了自建语料库的三个关键问题,分别是:语料库的定义及类型,语料库的结构设计、选材原则和选材方法,语料库的质量测试方式。其设计方案以期给白建语料库的研究者提供可行性借鉴。

Field Linguistics has replaced armchair linguistics as the mainstream in modern linguistics, corpus has become an integral part of linguistics and language engineering, researchers in foreign countries has already set up necessary norms for corpus construction and application. Chinese researchers have been making great efforts in exploring corpus construction, corpus linguistics and corpus-based translation. Based on the reappraisal of current practice and future trends, it can be concluded that we should attach more importance to the interdisciplinary nature of corpus research and make greater efforts in building up the construction norms, making the corpus smarter and more multifunctional.

The conference covered five areas of research:ESP corpus, interlanguage contrastive analysis, parallel corpus and translation, corpus and language teaching, corpus and language description. The conference was characterized by (1) the fast development of the ESP corpus research;(2) the emphasis laid on phraseology and units of meaning;(3) the hot issue of parallel corpus and translation study.

Compared with traditional business English learners’ dictionaries, the advantage of corpus-based business English learners’ dictionaries lies in its capacity to lay a sound foundation for the selection of business lexis as headwords, to provide reliable information of word frequency and collocation, and to make more precise discrimination of synonymous words. In order to make a better use of corpus data, one first needs to construct a business English corpus with a large size which is representative and up-to-date. Secondly, it is of paramount importance to combine linguistic knowledge extracted from corpora with background knowledge of business outside corpora. And it is equally important to extract proper and informative examples from corpora.
