《白蛇传》的故事，流传已久。这则故事的发生地，主要有“杭州西湖-镇江金山”说，也有“河南鹤壁”说。从明代冯梦龙的拟话本小说《白娘子永镇雷峰塔》起，“杭州-镇江”的说法就基本上已经定型。冯作中的故事发生于南宋，杭州西湖为南宋都城内的游览胜地，镇江金山寺为江南名刹，大运河贯通南北，勾连杭州，这中间有着不可分割的关系。

The Legend of Madame White Snake has been popular in China for ages.As for the origin of this story, there are two versions:“Hangzhou West Lake-Zhenjiang Jinshan Temple”and “Hebi in Henan”.From the novel of Lady White Pressed Down the Lei Feng Tower for Ever written by Feng Menglong in the Ming Dynasty,this argu-ment of Hangzhou-Zhenjiang was basically finalized.The story originated in the Southern Song Dynasty.Hangzhou West Lake in the capital of the Southern Song Dynasty was a tourist attraction,and Zhenjiang Jinshan was the fa-mous temple to the south of Changjiang River for a long time.The two places have an inseparable relation with the Grand Canal,which hooks up to Hangzhou and connects the South and the North of China.
