As a classic in the history of English literature,Prideand Prejudice has been translated into many languages for many times.The translation versions vary with the age and background.When it comes to compare and study different translated versions,translators’prefaces have unique value.The article, based on the prefaces of two translated versions by Wang Ke-yi and Sun Zhi-li towards Pride and Preju-dice,attempts to analyze the time features in translating through the corpus-based approach.The version by Wang Ke-yi is filled with the remaining thought of feudalism and a strong flavor of rural life while the version by Sun Zhi-li focuses on the delicate characterization and exotic style.

The debate of"word for word","sense for sense"and the concept of"faithfulness"is always the focus in the field of translation. With the development of translation studies, the concept of"faithfulness"has been extended and enriched. With the guidance of theoreti-cal framework of redefined faithfulness, the paper is intended to provide a new perspective to the research into the concept of faithfulness and enrich the research on translation versions of Tess of the D''Urbervilles through case study of two Chinese versions of Tess of the D''Urbervilles.

The basic task of translation is to reproduce the thought and style of the original work faithfully .Different from other types of translation , literature translation has to be not only faithful and smooth but also clear with exotic flavor.Therefore, foreignization is very necessary in literature translation .Sun''s Chinese version of pride and preju-dice is analyzed from the perspective of translation strategy and the application of foreignization in reproducing the original culture is discussed in this article , in the hope of bringing some light on translators .

The most classic part of the wonderful novel Pride and Prejudice is the characters’ humorous and ironic qualities between the lines .And it has always been the problem to the translators about how to get the authentic translation of these humorous and ironic dialogues without departing from the original context .Gestalt aesthetics translation theory is just focused on the study of how to embody the overall aesthetic effect of the translation by emphasizing the readers''psychological aesthetic image ,and can provide fresh source of ideas and theories .Based on the typical six rules of Gestalt aesthetics ,this article will comparatively study the methods of translators to achieve the interaction between their mental activity and the translation process and to eventually form a prefect unity on two Chinese versions-SUN Zhili’s version (1991) and the joint version of ZHANG Ling and ZHANG Yang (1992) .
