语言对人类精神发展起决定作用,是民族精神的外显。通过不同语言中相同能指对应的所指之对比,映射出相应民族的文化精神。即通过语言世界图景与现实世界图景之间存在的像似性,推论出不同语言词汇语义蕴涵的文化意象之异质性,其理据是:不同地理位置→不同气候→不同生活方式→不同文化→不同意识观念→不同文化意象。文章通过俄、英、汉三种语言中文化意象的显性形式-动物意象、植物意象、数字意象、彩色意象等对比分析,证明地理环境决定文化意象。

By contrasting the same signifiers with their corresponding signified in different languages, it maps its cor-responding national spirit. That is to say: the iconicity between the linguistic images and the real world images implies the dissimilarity between the cultural differences implied by vocabulary semantemes in dif-ferent languages. It goes like this: different geografical locations’ different climates’ different life styles’ different cultures’ different ideological attitudes’ different cultural images. 《红楼梦》是中国乃至世界文学宝库中的一颗璀璨的明珠，也是对外传播中国传统文化的重要载体。本文通过对比杨宪益夫妇和大卫?霍克斯的两种英译本，分析《红楼梦》诗词英译中文化意象的传递策略。研究发现：1.通过对比分析两种英译本对生态文化意象、物质文化意象、社会文化意象、宗教文化意象和语言文化意象诗词的翻译，发现杨译版本能够更好的保留和传递《红楼梦》中的文化意象。2.较之霍译版本，杨译版本在诗词翻译策略上更多使用异化和直译方法，能更好地传递中国传统文化意象；3.在文化意象的传达问题上，译者需遵循“文化传真”的原则，灵活使用不同翻译策略，尽量保持源语文化意象的完整性和一致性。

A Dream of Red Mansions is not only a bright pearl in Chinese and world literature, but also an important carrier of external communication of Chinese traditional culture. Based on a comparative analysis of Yang’s version and Hawkes’ version, this paper analyzes the transfer strategies of cultural image in the poetry translation ofA Dream of Red Mansions. The study discovers that Yang’s version can better reserve and transfer the cultural images inA Dream of Red Mansions after a comparative analysis of ecological culture images, material culture images, social culture images, religious culture images and linguistic culture images; compared with Hawkes’ version, Yang’s version adopts the translation strategy of foreignization and literal translation more frequently,so it can better transfer Chinese traditional culture images; when transferring cultural images, translator should observe the principle of “ facsimile of culture” in a flexible way and use different translat
