Combining the evaluation principles,indexes and methods of concrete pavement performance of Xuanda(Xuanhua-Datong)highway reconstruction projects,this paper investigated the concrete pavement distress condition by artificial methods,detected the pavement evenness with vehicle-mount-ed laser,measured the friction coefficient of road surfaces,which were used to calculate Pavement Surface Condition Index (PCI),Riding Quality Index (RQI),Skidding Resistance Index (SRI),ob-tained Pavement Quality or Performance Index (PQI).And via using the FWD to measure pavement deflections,the pavement get the pavement strength index(PSSI).Finally the paper gives the compre-hensive evaluation of the pavement performance and put forward the management measures.

The average depth of texture (MPD) is measured by ARAN9000 automatic roadway machine. Sideway force coefficient (SFC) is measured by MK-6 double wheels'' transverse force coefficient machine through conversion. Three kilometers of rubber asphalt and SBS modified asphalt pavement are measured separately and continuously, 100m as the basic evaluation unit. SBS modified asphalt pavement is 1.3 times of rubber asphalt pavement when pavement skid resistance is characterized by SFC. The average value of MPD about rubber asphalt pavement is 1.9 times of SBS modified asphalt pavement. The result shows that there is some limitations when use MPD to characterize the skid resistance, so it is recommended to test skid resistance through testing SFC.

Pavement performance and economic efficiency are researched on the perpetual test pavement of Yijiang-Suzhou Express Highway in Jiangsu province China.Test sections were continuously monitored.The conditions and developing laws of deflection rutting and cracking are compared among the perpetual pavement with the rich binder layer RBL the perpetual pavement without the RBL and the conventional semi-rigid asphalt pavement in the past eight years after opening for traffic.Economical evaluation is conducted via life cycle cost analysis LCCA .Based on the performance comparison and LCCA analysis sections with the RBL have good crack resistance but they are not very satisfactory in the aspect of permanent deformation the conventional semi-rigid asphalt pavement is the least economic one due to requiring more frequent maintenance.Research results show that the perpetual pavement without RBL is a more appropriate structure for the test site.
