In order to improve the calculation accuracy of the crushing force of double cavity jaw crusher ,we applied the method of instantaneous center of velocity to analysis the rule of the mov-ing jaw and the change of the crushing cavity of double cavity jaw crusher with the eccentric shaft rotated 360° .Then the conversion coefficient of the effective crushing cavity was put forward , and the change rule of the crushing force was studied .The results indicate that the crushing force periodicity changes with the variation of the effective crushing cavity .It also shows that the crushing force of the left cavity reaches to maximum w hen the eccentric shafts to 170° ,and the crushing force of the right cavity reaches to maximum when the eccentric shafts to 350° .This re-search revises the formula of the max crushing force ,and perfects the basic theory of the double cavity jaw crusher .

Detailed knowledge of crushability evolution and particle-scale energy allocation behavior under the influence of particle breakage is of fundamental importance to the development of micromechanics-based constitutive models of sands. This study reports original results of the particle development, energy input/dissipation and shear band formation of idealized crushable sands using 2D discrete elements simulations. Particle breakage is modeled as the disintegration of synthetic agglomerate particles which are made up of parallel-bonded elementary discs. Simulation results show that the particle crushability strongly affect the mechanical response in macroscopic level and energy allocation in particle-scale level of the soil both at small and large strains. The major role of particle breakage, which itself only dissipates a negligible amount of input energy, is found to advance the soil fabric change and promote the inter-particle friction dissipation. Grain breakage is a common physical phenomenon in nature. Rockfill materials may break up seriously upon high stress level of loading. Based on the thermomechanics and micropolar theory, a micromechanical model for granular matter is formulated considering the grain breakage. Three grains with the same radius bonded together are taken as an assembly of crushing grain to simulate the grain breaking process with the influence of lateral stress. By introducing the grain breakage criterion and using the homogenization theory, the stress-strain relationship in particle scale is established, and the stress and strain are modeled with breakage occurring in the process of loading. The computed results demonstrate that the proposed micromechanical model can simulate the increase of stress before grain breakage and stress dropping at occurrence of grain breakage.
