Xu Yuanchong is the first in our country to translate Chinese old poems in English and French. The fa-mous“three beauty” theory:beauty in sense,beauty in sound and beauty in form,which he puts forward,has always been considered as the criteria for poem translation. Based on a comparative study of the translation to the Chinese poem Lv Ye Shu Huai by Xu Yuanchong,this paper confirms the significance of the “three beauty” theory in poem translation further.
