A method to model the oil film force of tilting pad bearing and the torque of the pads was proposed. Influence of the pre-load, the covering angle and the swinging angle of the pad on the oil film force was analyzed with this model. The difference between the oil film forces of the ordinary sliding bearing and the tilting pad bearing was analyzed. Finally, the vibration characteristic of the tilting pad was studied by applying the model to the Jeffcott rotor with the use of the Runge-Kutta method. The result shows that this model is effective for analyzing the characteristic of the tilting pad bearing.

In order to study the viscosity-temperature characteristic of lubricating oils used in oil film bearing,the NDJ-5 S digital viscometer was used to measure the viscosity of S220 oil,M220 oil,and H460 oil under normal pressure and the temperature ranging from 20 ℃ to 100 ℃.The viscosity-temperature curves of the three oils were got,and the viscosity-temperature formulae were obtained by fitting the viscosity-temperature curves with power relationship and exponential rela-tionship.It is shown through analyzing the fitting results that the power relationship as the viscosity temperature formula of the lubricating of oil film bearing is more consistent with the actual situation.

The static performances of tilting pad bearings were studied.The Reynolds equation of tilting pad sliding bearings was solved by finite difference method,the calculation program of the oil film pressure distribution of three tilting pad sliding bearing was written,and the oil film bearing capacity and film thickness distribution were obtained through the iterative calculation of Reynolds equation using Matlab software.The results show that the film thickness in the same axial angle of three tilting pads bearing bush is equal,and the minimum film thickness and maximum film pressure are both ap-peared in the lower bush.When other conditions are the same,the higher the eccentric rate is,the greater the bearing ca-pacity of the oil film is,and the lower the damping ratio,temperature and power consumption are.While the temperature rising and power consumption are increased in linearity along with the axis journal speed.Therefore in the design and se-lection of bearings,the low-speed and hig

The performance of lubricating oil is directly related to the service life of the oil film bearings.Aiming at the poor working condition and harsh lubricating performance requirements for oil film bearings in rolling mill,the tester is developed for oil film bearings in rolling mill.The technical proposal,main component and functions of tester are intro-duced.The tester is designed by simulating the actual working condition of the high speed wire rod finishing mill group, and the contrast test is carried out for lubrication oil performance of different oil film bearings.The validation test re-sults show that the tester has good reliability and can satisfy the expected requirements.

Two bearing dynamic models were introduced,including the traditional eight-parameter bearing model and the short-bearing oil film force model.The effects of rotor speed and Sommerfeld number on bearing dynamic characteristics were studied,and the influencial factors were inspected,such as the eccentricity,minimum film thickness, maximum film pressure,friction power,temperature,critical journal mass,stiffness coefficient,damping coefficient,and 2D and 3D film pressure.It was shown that there exists a critical rotor speed when analyzing 3D film pressure,the maximum film pressure is greatly affected by the rotor speed when the rotor speed is below the critical speed,and the maximum film pressure is slightly affected when the rotor speed is higher than the critical speed.

Taking the generating units in Yuzixi Hydropower Station as study case, the oil film property of thrust bearing is studied by using ARMD software. The change laws of pressure, moment, stiffness and damping of oil film under different rotation speeds and axial thrusts are calculated. The results show that the pressure, moment, stiffness and damping of oil film will increase with the increase of rotation speed and also increase with the increase of axial thrust, but will rapidly increase at the vicinity of runaway speed.

Present the working principle and structure of a hydrostatic thrust bearing with a circular flat slit fed restrictor ,which was designed for variable displacement seat valve distributor of a hydraulic motor . Calculated its bearing capacity and oil film stiffness ,analyzed the influence of the height difference between the bearing surface and its circular flat slit fed restrictor on bearing characteristics ,compared the circular flat slit fed restrictor hydrostatic thrust bearing with capillary fed restrictor bearing .The results show that the oil film stiffness of the hydrostatic thrust bearing presented in this paper decreases monotone with the thickness of the oil film ,and the bearing capacity was more stable than capillary fed restrictor bearing , while the capillary fed restrictor bearing had its best oil film stiffness at its rated working oil film thickness .Hydrostatic thrust bearings with height difference 5 μm and 10 μm were tested ,the test results showed that b

The working principle of hydrodynamic journal bearing,and the features of oil film that are different from that of general mechanical elements were introduced. The relation between the load and the dynamic characteristics of bearing was analyzed. By modeling rotor-bearing system and deducing formulas,the conclusion that light load will cause weak oil-film stiffness which leads to larger vibration amplitude and oil whirl at the severe condition was put forward. The conclusion is successfully applied in dealing with typical fault of oil whirl and insufficient oil-film stiffness.
