Four kinds of pure organic cotton fabrics are produced, their physical properties and wearability are analyzed by comparing with ordinary cotton fabric, and the comprehensive performance of these four kinds of organic cotton fabric is calculated by grey clustering analysis. The conclusion is that the mechanical properties of organic cotton fabric made of ring-spun yarn can be improved by changing fabric specifications and the mechanical properties can be significantly improved by using compact yarn. There is not much difference in wearablity between ordinary cotton fabric and organic cotton fabric.

This paper probes the theory of graft modiifcation of epichlorohydrin on cotton fabrics, analyzes the inlfuence factors of the graft modiifcation of epichlorohydrin on cotton fabrics, and tests the grafting rates before and after the grafting, the strength and whiteness of cotton fabrics. The result indicates the weight of cotton fabrics increases after grafting, and the grafted cotton fabrics bleached with hydrogen peroxide is the whitest compared with them before grafting, meanwhile the strength of them decreases up to some point.

Cotton fabric was dyed by sulfur dyestuff after it was dip-modified with WLS-20, which is a home-made cationic feather protein auxiliary. The dyeing properties of modified and un-modified cotton fabric were compared, after which WLS-20 was used in process of fixation. Based on former researches, fixation processes of WLS-20 were carried out with different sulfur dyestuffs and different dyestuff dosage, and the effects of WLS-20 on cotton fabric in fixation process were evaluated. Compared with the un-modified cotton fabric, cotton fabric modified by WLS-20 presented deeper color under the same dyestuff dosage, and the staining during soaping process was reduced significantly with the rubbing fastness and washing fastness improved by 0.5~1 level. WLS-20 is a multi-functional auxiliary, and it can be used as fiber modifier as well as fixing agent.

In this paper, cotton fabrics are modified by using self-made cationic modifier WLS-20, then reac-tive dyes are chosen to dye the modified cotton fabrics, at last, new prepared WLS-20 solution or WLS-20 solu-tion which has been used in modification process is applied in the fixation process of dyed modified cotton fabrics. Compared with the traditional dyeing process of reactive dyes in the presence of salt for unmodified cotton fabrics, it is found that WSL-20 can not only be used as modifier to realize dyeing without salt for reactive dyes, it also can be used as fixing agent to improve color fastness of fabrics; Meanwhile, it is found that WLS-20 solution can be reused, which means WLS-20 residual solution from modification process can be used in the fixation process a-gain, and the fixing effects are the same with that using new prepared WLS-20 solution in fixation process.

The cotton fabric modified by chitosan was dyed by gardenia yellow, and the effects of dosage of dyes, pH value, dyeing temperature and dyeing time on the dyeing properties of cotton fabric modified by chitosan were tested and analyzed, and the optimal dyeing process was verified by orthogonal experiment. The properties of cotton fabric modified by chitosan after dyeing were tested. The results show that the dyeing property of cotton fab-ric modified by chitosan is better; the optimal dyeing process of cotton fabric modified by chitosan is that the dosage of gardenia yellow is 9%, dyeing temperature is 30 ℃, dyeing time is 50 minutes, and pH value is 5;UV-resistance property of cotton fabric modified by chitosan after dyeing is stronger, and fastness to rubbing and washing are good.

The research status and development trend about the application of biomimetic metal complexes in the low-temperature hydrogen peroxide bleaching of cotton fabric were reviewed. The paper introduced the catalytic effects of metal porphyrin complexes, metal phthalocyanine complexes, schiff-base metal complexes and macrocyclic polyamine metal complexes, which were used as biomimetic catalysts in the low-temperature hydrogen peroxide bleaching of cotton fabric. Furthermore, the application perspective of biomimetic metal complexes in low-temperature bleaching of cotton fabric was prospected.

A new modifier was synthesized using epoxy chloropropane and sericin protein, and then applied to the modification of cotton fabrics. FT-IR and SEM were used to characterize the modification effect, and the results showed that sericin protein had fixed on cotton fabrics. Reactive dyes were used to dye the modified cotton fabrics, and the dyeing behavior was studied. After pretreatment with sericin protein, K/S value of dyed fabric increased obviously; washing fastness and rubbing fastness improved;moisture absorption and liberation and levelness became better.

Gelatin protein was added into the diammonium phosphateflame retardant finishing bath to investigate the effects of additives in the compounded flame retardant system, in which citric acid was crosslinker and sodium hypophosphiteacts as catalyst, on the flame retardant property of cotton fabric. And the flame retardantproperty as well as other physical and mechanical properties of the finished cotton fabric were evaluated. The results showed that it is very difficult for cotton fabric to get good flame retardant property just treated by gelatin protein.While it is conducive to further improve the flame retardant property and reduce the strength loss of the treated fabric with deduction of whiteness and capillary effect through compounded finishing of gelatin protein and diammonium phosphate.

For the functional ifnishing of cotton fabrics, this paper presents a method of fabricating ZnO nanoparticles and depositing them on cotton fabric based on the interaction between HBP-NH2 and Zn(NO3)2 in aqueous solution. The mechanism was discussed in detail. The antibacterial activity and UV protective property of treated cotton fabrics were measured. The treated cotton fabrics were characterized. The results indicated that HBP-NH2 contributed to the preparation and performance improvement of ZnO. The treated cotton fabric showed excellent UV protective properties and a certain antibacterial activity. The UPF values and bacterial reduction rates enhanced with the increasing of ZnO content in cotton fabrics.

The cationic modifier polyepichlorohydrin- dimethylamine was synthesized by epichlorohydrin, dimethylamine and ethylenediamine. It was applied in cationic modification of cotton fabric. Then the modified cotton fabric was salt- free dyed with reactive dyes. The optimal cationic modification of cotton fabric and dye-ing process of cationic agent modified cotton fabric were determined. The results showed that the modified cotton fabric could be applied in salt- free dyeing with reactive dyes. The exhaustion rate and fixation rate of modified fabric were higher than those of the traditional dyed fabric.
